It's the first time that Ngobeni has been called up to the senior national side after previously having represented South Africa U23.

The Bafana assistant, Helman Mkhalele, named his 20-man squad for the tournament which sees South Africa in Group A along with Lesotho, Botswana and ESwatini.

The only players in the squad that played in the recent 3-2 win over Uganda are Bruce Bvuma, Njabulo Ngcobo, Ethan Brooks and Bongokuhle Hlongwane.
