The Bees sign Eriksen─── MORGAN PIEK 13:41 Mon, 31 Jan 2022
With the January transfer deadline looming, the English Premiership club, Brentford, made the biggest signing in their history. The Bees have signed the Danish international attacking midfielder, Christian Eriksen.
This comes just seven months after the player suffered a heart attack on the pitch during the 2020 Euro.
Last month Eriksen was released by his club, Inter Milan, as Italian football do not allow a player with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator to play.
In a short video on social media, Eriksen, confirmed that he will be playing his football at Brentford.
“I'm happy to announce that I've signed for Brentford Football Club and I can't wait to get started and hopefully I'll see you all very soon.”
Brentford manager Thomas Frank, who has previously worked with Eriksen, said the player has the ability to swing a match.
“He is fit but we will need to get him match-fit and I am looking forward to seeing him work with the players and staff to get back towards his highest level.
“At his best, Christian has the ability to dictate games of football. He can find the right passes and is a goal threat. I expect him to have an impact in the dressing room and at the training ground.”
it is doubtful that Eriksen will be in action for the Bees as soon as Saturday when they face Everton at Goodison Park in the FA Cup.
