The last time these two teams met, the Brazilians beat the Red Devils 1-0 in Cairo last month.

Following that match their Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane, stated that they were angry about the defeat and they want to set the record straight in South Africa.

Downs coach, Manqoba Mnqgithi said he believes they can beat Mosimane's chargers again.

“One thing that I like is the anger and the vengeance to come back with a bang”, said the Brazilians tactician.

“For me that will make for a very good game of football. They will be coming here looking for a result.

“We like it when you come to us with that mentality. We are also optimistic that we have got what it takes to upset them.

“I believe when two big clubs face each other with a mentality to try and win the match and not just play for a draw or consolidate their place in gaining a point by not conceding, it becomes a very interesting match for the spectators.”

Last year in the quarter-finals, Al Ahly, beat Sundowns 2-0.

Sundowns currently tops Group A on seven points with two wins from their three previous games.

Saturday afternoon's game at the FNB Stadium kicks off at 15:00.
