In Lisbon, Liverpool, got off to a near perfect start in the last eight with a 3-1 against Benfica at Estádio da Luz.

Over at the Etihad in Manchester, the English Premiership champions, Manchester City, played to a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid from Spain.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, feels they should have scored more goals.

“It was a tough game - what I expected. Especially when they scored, obviously the crowd was there immediately.

“We knew it, we always know it, 2-0 is nothing. It's nice but not more. They scored the goal and it was much more open than we wanted obviously.

“But in the end, we should've scored in the first half, we could've and probably should’ve scored again in the second half.

“The goalie was probably the best player, they played a good game but the goalie was the best player, he made a couple of really good saves. That's it.

“We won it, two goals up at half-time. Not more, not less, let's keep going.”

The action continues tonight with the Real Madrid at home to the champions, Chelsea, at the Bernabéu, while Bayern Munich host Villarreal at the Allianz Arena.
