The club is set to close a transfer for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

The 21-year-old Norwegian marksman is one of the hottest players in world football and he has been on the shopping list for the world's biggest clubs for quite some time.

The player has also been on the radar of clubs such as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Reports from Germany indicate that Haaland has informed Dortmund that he wants to leave the club and the deal can be sealed in the coming days.

The release clause on his contract at Dortmund is €75 million (approximately R1.28 billion).

According to reports, the Manchester City CEO, Ferran Soriano, has informed Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke that City are ready to activate the striker's release clause.

It is also believed that the highly sought-after player has passed his medical, which will pave the way for his move to the English Premiership at the end of the season.
