Banyana target clinical performance in WAFCON final─── MORGAN PIEK 15:00 Fri, 22 Jul 2022
The national women’s football team are confident and ready ahead of Sunday’s big Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco in Rabat.
South Africa are in the final for a sixth time and they will be targeting a first major continental title.
Banyana are somewhat fortuitous to reach the final but for them all that matters in the next 90 minutes on the final.
Banyana coach and former captain, Desiree Ellis, emphasised the importance of a solid defence against the hosts.
“We’ve got to make sure that we execute our plans better,” said the CAF Coach of the Year.
“We’ve got to make sure that we keep another clean sheet. Keeping a clean sheet is half of the battle won.
“We know what we are going to creat opportunities - but then we've got to be clinical in front of goal.
“It's the biggest 90-minutes for our players and I am sure that they are going to be up for it.”
Sunday’s big final between Morocco and South Africa at Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah kicks off at 22:00.
