It’s the biggest achievement of my life so far - Le Roux─── MORGAN PIEK 09:46 Wed, 21 Sep 2022
The Varbergs midfielder, Luke Le Roux, considers being called up to the Bafana Bafana squad to be the biggest achievement in his career thus far.
The 22-year-old former SuperSport United and Stellenbosch player is one of several new faces in the national camp for the upcoming international friendlies against Sierra Leone and Botswana.
South Africa has lost their last three games and will desperately want to start building momentum for the AFCON qualifiers with two wins.
Le Roux said being in the national camp is a proud moment.
“It’s the biggest achievement of my life so far, getting a Bafana call-up. We are going to work hard to prepare for the two games,” Le Roux said.
“The past is behind us now. We are looking into the future. It’s the proudest moment of my life, and an unbelievable and best feeling that I can’t explain.”
Le Roux has previously represented South Africa at under-17 and under-20 level.
South Africa will face Sierra Leone at 15:00 on Saturday at Soccer City, while they will be up against the Zebras on Tuesday.
