Bafana target consistency against Botswana─── MORGAN PIEK 13:26 Tue, 27 Sep 2022
Bafana Bafana will be targeting consistency when they take to the field against Botswana on Tuesday evening in Johannesburg.
South Africa are confident heading into the international friendly against the Zebras following their 4-0 drubbing of Sierra Leone on Saturday.
This evening a new-look team will be fielded in order to give players some international game-time ahead of next year’s AFCON qualifiers against Liberia.
The Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, said the key is being consistent.
“Being good is easy - staying good is more difficult,” said the Belgian tactician.
“We plan is that after these two games, we can go on with this group. Maybe it will change, two, three, four players, and that depends on injuries or a player who is really good at the moment.
“I would like to go on with this group now - therefore it is really important that we get two victories. This is a great group of players and the way they treat each other provides for a good atmosphere.”
“It will be a totally different team. We have 23 players and there were eleven players that played on Saturday.
“We will play Botswana with another team - that has always been the plan before the camp. We won't change that.
"So, we will see every player that is with us in this camp play. Goodman Mosele will play, Teboho Mokoena, Ashley du Preez and Siyanda Xulu will all be playing.”
Tuesday night’s international friendly between South Africa and Botswana at Soccer City kicks off at 18:00.
