The 176th Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will be played on Saturday and it will be the first time in three years that the fixture will be played in front of a capacity crowd.
It will also be the first time these two teams get to face each other this season in the Premier Soccer League.
The Buccaneers are currently 4th on the log and they lead the 5th placed Amakhosi by a single point.
A capacity stadium is expected for the biggest game on the domestic soccer calendar.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder and Chiefs vice-captain, Keegan Dolly, said it’s important not to be overwhelmed by the occasion, and will the Sea Robbers are confident, they are happy to have the underdogs tag for the game which rates as on of the biggest in the world.
“Obviously, they’re high in confidence now after making it to the MTN8 final. We will give them that. We will take the underdog tag and just do our best on the day.
“In terms of the pressure, for us at Chiefs, we always say ‘the pressure is a privilege’. We’re all privileged to be part of this major derby.
“We’re some of the lucky few that get the opportunity to play in a sold-out FNB Stadium. That’s what we live on at Chiefs. We always tell each other it’s a privilege.”
Saturday’s big derby at Soccer City will kick-off at 15:30.
