Victory for Amazulu as they take on Kaizer Chiefs─── KAYLA BARKER 00:27 Sat, 14 Jan 2023
This weekend’s round of PSL matches got under way on Friday evening as AmaZulu took on Kaizer Chiefs in Durban at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in a game ending victoriously for AmaZulu.
In what was the opening game of this weekend’s PSL action, Usuthu stunned as they effortlessly claimed a 4-0 victory over Chiefs. A win managed to secure AmaZulu an elevation in their current standings. Moving from 12th to 5th on the log records a major victory for Usuthu.
For Kaizer Chiefs, a defeat to AmaZulu this evening records a 2nd consecutive defeat. Fortunately for the AmaKhosi, their standing on the log has not been affected and they remain in 4th. Romain Folz' side's rise in standing sees them only 3 points behind their opponents.
Goals from Dumisani Zuma, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Junior Dion and Bongi Ntuli this evening secured the 4-0 victory for Usuthu as they each managed to stun past Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune.
Chiefs had chances but did not manage to secure and convert those chances to goals resulting in their biggest defeat this season.
For AmaZulu coach, Romain Folz, this win comes as not only a fantastic victory, but also a relief as his team only had 1 league game win out of the 5 played.
On the 21st of January, Kaizer Chiefs are set to face Mamelodi Sundowns while AmaZulu will be at home to Marumo Gallants.
