The Brazilians have managed to secure the signature of the 19-year-old Bafana Bafana midfielder, Thapelo Maseko, from SuperSport United.

This comes after Sundowns' city rivals, SuperSport turned down three offers from the Belgian outfit, Westerlo.

Maseko made his senior national debut for Bafana last month during the AFCON qualifier against Morocco.

Meanwhile, the club also confirmed the departure of the 22-year-old midfielder, Cassius Mailula, who will be heading aboard to continue his career.

“Mamelodi Sundowns has been in discussions with a North American football club that expressed interest in acquiring the services of Cassius Mailula.

“Sundowns is proud of Cassius Mailula who joined the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy as a 13-year-old and was developed and nurtured by the Sundowns coaches.

“Mamelodi Sundowns will make further announcements concerning Cassius Mailula in due course.”

Sundowns will kick-off their league campaign on 4 August against Sekhukhune United.
