This year, for the first time two teams from Bloemfontein will be competing in the tournament.

The Central University of Technology are new to the tournament and on Thursday night at 18:30 they will be up against the University of the Western Cape at CUT Park.

Across town at Shimla Park, last year's semi-finalists, the University of the Free State will play against the defending champions, the Tshwane University of Technology.

The captain of Kovsies, Aphiwe Zulu, told OFM Sport that TUT, who beat them in the semi-finals last year will be a tough nut to crack, but they are ready and confident.

“It will not be an easy game as we are playing against the defending champions and they managed to beat us twice last year,” said the defender.

“From our side as Kovsies football, we are ready and we have been preparing really well.

This game at the campus kicks off at 19:15.

Meanwhile, at 17:00 the North West University will face the 2021 champions, UJ at the NWU Mafikeng Stadium.
