The season starts in Polokwane with Brandon Truter’s Sekhukhune United hosting the six-time defending champions.

Sundowns are the team to beat following their unprecedented dominance of domestic football over the past six seasons.

Sekhukhune has proven that they are giant-killers and will want to start the season with a bang.

The Brazilians coach, Rhulani Mokwena, said they have a big target on their backs this season.

“We are excited because we understand how difficult it is going to be,” said Mokwena.

“All the games are going to tough and it's a season where we are definitely going to be tested. We are the hunted this season and everyone wants to be us.

“We look forward to defending our premiership title and showing the qualities that we have as the defending champions if every single match with a lot of consistency.”

Friday night’s season opener at the Peter Mokaba Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
