The Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, has trimmed his squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Namibia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

What has to be a first in South African football history, the national side does not have a single Kaizer Chiefs player in the squad.

Broos said according to him no Amakhosi player is good enough to be in the national team.

“Kaizer Chiefs are still the same as last year,” said Broos.

“They have a lot of new players and maybe that is the reason why they don’t achieve the level they need to.

“They are still many points behind Mamelodi Sundowns and I said it already, for any competition it’s important that the top teams are at the top of the ranking.

“Okay, Orlando Pirates won on Tuesday, so there is only eight points difference with Sundowns.

“Only five games and you are already many points behind first place team, and it’s not a little team who is first.

“Chiefs have to improve – I was at the game against AmaZulu last week, I’m very sorry, but now, there is no player who deserves to be at Bafana Bafana.”

South Africa will face Namibia on 9 September and the DRC on the 12th with both games being played at the Orlando Stadium.
