'We will fight every second and every minute' - Broos─── MORGAN PIEK 09:03 Wed, 24 Jan 2024
“We will fight every second and every minute to have a good result tomorrow. What is a good result is not losing against Tunisia, that should give us to be certain of the next round.”
It’s do-or-die for Bafana Bafana on Wednesday evening when they come up against Tunisia at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Bafana will be targeting back-to-back wins in Group E in order to advance to the next round of the continental showpiece.
South Africa are second in the group on 3 points, while Tunisia are last, a win can see them move on to the next round.
The camp has renewed confidence after their 4-0 drubbing of Namibia, but they are also aware of the fact that one swallow does not make a summer.
The coach, Hugo Broos, said they will fight for every second of the crunch game.
“We will fight every second and every minute to have a good result tomorrow. What is a good result is not losing against Tunisia, that should give us to be certain of the next round.”
The Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Grant Kekana, in his turn said they have no plans to return back home to South Africa yet.
“Everyone is looking forward to tomorrow, obviously it’s a big game and we don’t want to be going home early. We are going to try our best to get the best result tomorrow.”
Wednesday night’s big game between South Africa and Tunisia kicks off at 19:00.
