Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will face Arsenal in the Champions League final after they overcame Bayern Munich on Wednesday (06/05) in the second leg of the semi-final.

Even though the match ended in a 1–1 draw, PSG earned a 6–5 aggregate victory, thanks to the 5–4 goal advantage earned in the first leg of the semi-final.

PSG opened the scoring with a goal from Ballon d’Or winner, Ousmane Dembele, who found the net after a brilliant run and cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Bayern failed to score in the first half but kept up the pressure in the second. Harry Kane finally broke through the French defense to score his 55th goal of the season deep into stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough for Vincent Kompany’s side to advance to the final.

After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique said he was proud of the character his team showed.

"The character we showed against a team like Bayern is so positive," said Enrique, who has guided the team to back-to-back Champions League finals.

"We're so happy to reach a second Champions League final in a row. It was very intense. Very difficult. They play football at the highest level. Both teams are similar; we love to press higher. We are very happy," he said.

PSG, who are already the top scorers in this season’s competition with 44 goals, will look to increase their tally in the final against Arsenal in Budapest on 30 May.

The Bavarian side managed 43 goals before their elimination, making this the first time in the competition's history that two different clubs have broken the 40-goal mark in a single edition.
