Sinner and Auger-Aliassime to chase milestones in Paris Masters Final─── ILSE SMALBERGER 09:18 Sun, 02 Nov 2025
Italy’s Jannik Sinner and Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime will step onto the court chasing significant milestones when they battle for the Rolex Paris Masters title on Sunday (2/11).
Sinner crushed Germany’s Alexander Zverev 6-0, 6-1 in the semi-final on Saturday, while ninth seed Auger-Aliassime boosted his chances of qualifying for the ATP Finals with a 7-6(3), 6-4 victory over Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik.
Sinner’s win against Zverev saw him extend his streak of indoor hardcourt victories to 25 matches and gave him his first shot at a Paris Masters final.
“Obviously, I’m happy to be in the final. But it’s not how you want to arrive. Playing against Sascha (Zverev) is always a special occasion. Today, he was not 100%. We saw that. He was struggling physically,” said Sinner.
After the match, Zverev compared Sinner to former World Number 1, Novak Djokovic.
Sinner’s victory also gave him a narrow 5-4 edge in their head-to-head record, having defeated Zverev in the Vienna Open final last week and the Australian Open final in January.
For Auger-Aliassime, his victory over Bublik saw him move past Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti into eighth place in the ATP Race to Turin standings.
“I’m so happy. A Masters 1000 final sounds so good. You don’t play those finals every week. Hopefully, I can go all the way and get the title,” said Auger-Aliassime.
‘I’m happy with the result’
“I have deep self-confidence in my game. I know what I can do against the best players in the world, but you still have to go and execute. Today I did really well and I’m happy with the result.”
Auger-Aliassime is chasing his fourth title of the season, having triumphed in Brussels, Montpellier, and Adelaide.
For Sinner, victory would mark his first Paris crown and seal a triumphant return to no. 1 in the ATP Rankings, reclaiming it from rival Carlos Alcaraz.
