Celebrating the United Nations’ International Day of Happiness has become an institution on the sound of your life, so naturally we’re doing it again this March 20th!

During OFM Be Happy Day we’ll be providing you with 24 hours of positivity! This includes an upbeat playlist, an hourly moment of inspiration, happy news, request segments, loads of fun and of course chances to win.

Meet up with the Street Squad

Keep an eye out for the OFM Street Squad, who will also be out and about, spreading the joy. You’ll find them at the Nelson Mandela and Parfitt Avenue intersection in Bloemfontein, 07:00-08:00; and at Goldfields Mall in Welkom, 12:00-13:00.

This year's theme is ‘Happier Together’, focusing on what we have in common, rather than what divides us. Everyone wants to be happy - and life is happier when we're together. So let's celebrate our common humanity.

Get Involved

This year, OFM is supporting the Smile Foundation and we need your help. This non-governmental organization, with a comprehensive health care vision for children living with facial conditions, have been supporting the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Universitas Academic in Bloemfontein for 10 years now. There is a need for the following items for the children in the ward: new crayons, colouring in books, puzzles, building blocks, kiddies’ blankets and beanies. (Please consider donating new items as there is the risk of infection with second-hand ones.)

Since 2013, the United Nations has celebrated the International Day of Happiness as a way to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world. In 2015, the UN launched the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that seek to end poverty, reduce inequality, and protect our planet – three key aspects that lead to well-being and happiness.
