The 7th Annual Free State Wine Show returns to Bloemfontein on 2 and 3 August with a contemporary and fresh look inspired by the big sky landscapes of the country’s agricultural heartland.  Also new is the show’s venue at the spacious Ilanga Estate Boutique Hotel with around 40 wineries presenting well-loved iconic wines along with the new kids on the block.

Start your evening with sparkles from Krone, Robertson Wines and Valdo; then ‘think pink’ with a rosé from Babylonstoren or Fat Bastard.  Get your tongue around the Neethlingshof Gewürztraminer before moving on to a supple Shiraz or the ever popular Chocolate Block from Boekenhoutskloof.  Pinotage, Cab and red blends are the order of the day from the legendary Kanonkop and Glen Carlou’s natural sweet The Welder always delights. ‘Foodies’ selected for wine compatibility – Just Biltong, Mari’s Fudge and Brittle, Morgenster Olives and Snyman Sjokolateur – will supply ‘on-the-move’ deli fare to keep appetites sated during the tasting of some 150 wines on offer.

Tickets can be bought via webtickets.co.za and at the door subject to availability.

Shop@Show, managed by Makro Bloemfontein, presents an excellent opportunity to order wines at great prices – either on the night or online for a week longer - with the added convenience of delivery to your door.
