The first settlement in the Free State – Philippolis – is 200 years old this year! Founded in 1823, Philippolis went from a mission station to agricultural town and tourism destination.

The town, with its abundance of beautiful, historic houses, celebrates this milestone from 5 to 8 October 2023 with a variety of cultural and musical activities, such an a wine-tasting, the start of the 1000 kilometre horse-drawn cart expedition, talks and workshops, exhibitions, and concerts from 5 to 8 October 2023.

OFM will visit from 8am to 4pm on Saturday, 7 October to enjoy the great hospitality and delicious food of Philippolis!
