The Clarens Festival of Lights brings three evenings of light art, music and play to the Free State on Heritage Weekend, 24–26 September 2026, under the theme "Reflections". Where magic comes to light. This September, the mountain village of Clarens, long known as the Jewel of the Free State, becomes a living canvas of light. From 24 to 26 September 2026, over Heritage Weekend, the Clarens Festival of Lights invites visitors of all ages into three evenings where art, community and sustainability meet. Under the 2026 theme "Reflections", light reaches from a glowing main square to the township stadium and from intimate candlelit concerts to a fossil that lights up the dark.
