NPA celebrates 'small victory'─── 12:31 Mon, 24 Sep 2012
Johannesburg - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on Monday said millions of Rands are still missing in the Postbank heist case.
Earlier in 2012, several gang members cloned the Postbank IT systems and made numerous withdrawals around the country.
This week, assets amounting to about R200,000 were seized from the gang's alleged kingpin, Kabelo Kekana, in Midrand.
However, NPA spokesperson Vuyisile Calaza said the asset seizures are just a small victory.
“Postbank lost close to R30 million and the value of the assets that we managed to seize is just a drop in the ocean.”
The case is still being closely monitored by the NPA's investigations unit.
