Bloemfontein - This morning's aircraft crash at Lanseria Airport was the fifth fatal plane crash in South Africa since January 1.
Three people died when a Beechcraft King Air 90 crashed at the airport on landing. It is speculated that the crash on the embankment opposite the runway could have been due to the pilot trying to avoid hitting a building.
Aviation expert Brian Emminis says it was the pilot's second attempt to land, following a go round in extreme bad weather. Civil aviation is on the scene.
Meanwhile, Eastern Cape police spokesperson, John Fobian says the investigation into the plane crash in the Addo National Elephant Park in which Gauteng pilot, Cliff Pike, was killed last week, is continuing. - AlgoaFM
