Durban - South Africa's youngest doctor, who qualified at the age of 20, has stated his commitment to serve his country, Rapport reported on Sunday.
"I definitely will not leave the country; I love South Africa. It is always important to give back to your country and your people," Sabile Kubheka told the newspaper.
Kubheka - one of five children raised by a single mother who worked as a sales manager at Shoprite - graduated from the University of Kwazulu-Natal in April this year.
He studied for five years, after matriculating by 15, to obtain his MBChB degree with a distinction in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Kubheka, now 21, is currently completing his first internship year at Grey's Hospital in Newcastle.
He hopes to eventually complete a masters degree and specialise in endocrinology.
