Desmond and Leah Tutu lay criminal charges against granddaughter─── 05:24 Fri, 15 May 2015
Cape Town - Desmond Tutu’s granddaughter Ziyanda told Netwerk24 on Thursday she was deeply hurt after the Anglican Archbishop Emeritus and his wife Leah laid a criminal charge against her.
The 30-year-old Ziyanda said she would be handing herself over to the police on Friday.
The Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation issued a statement confirming that they’d laid a charge against her.
The Archbishop Emeritus said in the statement that they were upset and heartbroken that it had come to that.
Ziyanda wouldn’t say what the charge was.
However, she said the issue could have been dealt with in a more private manner. She said her grandparents were the people with the money and power.
Ziyanda blamed mostly her grandmother. She said they had never had a good relationship.
Ziyanda denied on social media that she had been in a rehabilitation centre for alcohol abuse.
