Sasol exec who directed Inzalo scheme to step down | News Article

Johannesburg - Sasol on Monday announced the resignation of Nolitha Fakude, executive director and executive vice-president for strategy and sustainability.

Fakude joined Sasol’s group executive committee and board in 2005 and has also served as a director of a number of Sasol subsidiaries.

Shortly after her appointment, Fakude guided Sasol to work with organised labour through the formation of the Group Partnership Forum. This is a model that has been recognised by industry for improved industrial relations in a multi-trade union environment.

“Under her direction, Sasol drove the landmark broad-based black economic empowerment transaction, Sasol Inzalo. In recent years, Nolitha has overseen the development of business strategy at Sasol. She also led our diversity and inclusion programmes and spearheaded the development of women, particularly through the establishment of the Sasol Women’s Network,” said Sasol joint president and CEO, Stephen Cornell.

Fakude will continue to serve as a trustee on the Sasol Inzalo Foundation Trust, a public benefit organisation that drives excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics education at all levels of the education value chain.

Fakude has resigned to pursue other business interests. Her resignation will take effect from December 31.
