McDonald’s South Africa launched the KZN Disaster Relief after the devastating floods in KwaZulu-Natal earlier this year.

In April 2022, days of heavy rainfall across KwaZulu-Natal led to deadly floods in the region, leading to loss of life and an unknown number of people still missing. Several thousand homes were damaged or destroyed, leaving hundreds of families displaced

McDonald’s South Africa is a brand that is committed to improving the lives of the communities in which it operates. McDonald’s South Africa launched the KZN Disaster Relief campaign to assist in the relief of KwaZulu-Natal and surrounding areas.

With this campaign, McDonald’s South Africa asked all South Africans to join them in making a real change in the lives of those affected by the floods in KZN. Every time a customer purchased their favourite McDonald’s meal, they could donate R5 that would go towards KZN’s flood relief efforts. The campaign has in the two months that it has been running raised over R500 000.

McDonald’s South Africa is humbled by the support that its customers have given this campaign, and they would like to thank all their customers for coming on board and making a real difference in the lives of people

To find out more about the KZN Disaster Relief, customers can follow McDonald’s South Africa on social media: Twitter and Facebook under the hashtag #itsnotjustchange.
