Hirsch holds a higher certificate in retail management, as well as a postgraduate diploma in project management from the Regent Business School. Hirsch is also pursuing a postgraduate diploma in digital marketing, in addition to her MBA.

Hirsch is the Executive Director of the Hirsch's Group, one of Southern Africa's largest owned appliances and electronics retailers. Hirsch's was founded in 1979 by Margaret and her husband. With just R900, the couple ran the business from a tiny showroom on Umhlanga Rocks Drive, Durban.

Throughout her business, special and charitable work, she has received many awards. Over the past few years, she has been heavily involved in women's and youth empowerment projects in South Africa.

“My message for the youth today is not to be discouraged. Keep your head high and know that if you put in the work, you will be successful,” says Hirsch.
