Central South Africa’s agricultural institutions are rising to the task via the ongoing creation of technological products that aid farmers in carrying out their day-to-day operations efficiently.
One such entity is OVK which recently launched an application that enables farmers to monitor their accounts as well as access auctions and trade shops stocks amongst a slew of other features.
OVK National Marketing and Communications Manager, Christel Basson, told the OFM Business Hour more about the app and delved into the importance of agri-technologies particularly as the country faces many structural challenges.
Basson says poor road infrastructure amongst other service delivery constraints are increasingly making it difficult for farmers to just leave their premises and rush into town for an auction or a purchase at the trade shop – hence the need for more online offerings.

The OVK Marketing and Communications Manager says they are looking to better their online live auctions and better utilise social media platforms to reach their customer base.
