Leepile Taunyane tells OFM News that his daughter’s disappearance on 30 September 2019 is too painful to bear, given recent reports of missing girls that have been making national headlines. He says the family has sleepless nights and they have been following up on every little detail, whether important or not. He adds that he understands that his daughter went missing in Klerksdorp on her way from Wolmaransstad to Potchefstroom after she was dropped off by the taxi owner. Taunyane has since pleaded with anyone who might have information to come forward and assist in their efforts of tracing Boitumelo. 

OFM News previously reported that the police spokesperson, Sam Tselanyane, said the police have launched a search for Phoko who went missing in Klerksdorp on her way to Potchefstroom after she was dropped off at a taxi rank. He says the taxi owner and his driver swapped the two taxis between Wolmaransstad and Klerksdorp. The schoolgirl was in the taxi of the employee when the drivers swapped, she then travelled with the owner to Klerksdorp.

Tselanyane says after the taxi owner dropped all his passengers, he was shocked to find out that Phoko went missing.
