Case of missing FS teen ends tragically─── LEATILE LEIEE 14:52 Tue, 14 Jul 2020
The search of the missing 19-year-old Stefan Niewoudt from Harrismith has reached a dire ending, after a team found his body.
Niewoudt was discovered at the Botanical Gardens of Plattenberg outside the Free State town, on Tuesday. Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says the teen was found with a gun wound to the head and a .270 rifle next to his body – adding no foul play is suspected.
OFM previously reported that Niewoudt’s car was found abandoned earlier on Tuesday.
Niewoudt’s father said his son was on his way to visit a friend at a farm near Verkykerskop, but he never arrived at his destination.
With the help and continued efforts of a search conducted by Bethlehem K9, Harrismith police and the community the investigation came to an end.
