#LoadShedding in four provinces─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 06:07 Fri, 16 Jul 2021
The Free State and the North West are amongst the provinces where Eskom is implementing load reduction.
The power utility said load reduction will take place Friday between 05:00 and 09:00 in four provinces, including Gauteng and Limpopo.
The power supplier said this is to avoid network overloading in high-density areas.
Areas like Allanridge and Meloding in the Free State, and Rustenburg, Vryburg and Klerksdorp in the North West are amongst those expected to be affected by the load reduction. The load reduction notices to the four provinces comes just days after the power utility confirmed that the electricity grid is under "severe pressure".
Eskom urged the public to switch off all unnecessary appliances to alleviate pressure on the grid and to avert load-shedding this winter season.
