NW pair in court over stock theft─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 06:21 Mon, 19 Jul 2021

Two stock theft suspects in the North West are expected to appear in the Groot Marico Magistrate's Court on Monday.
This, after they were arrested in the early hours of Friday morning July 16, in possession of stolen cattle at Pella Village near Groot Marico.
Police spokesperson, Amanda Funani, says the pair aged 23 and 48 were arrested following a tip-off about men who were selling suspected stolen livestock. Funani says the duo then took the police to a farm where 11 stolen Bonsmara calves worth R90 000 were found in a kraal.
She confirms preliminary investigations revealed that the calves were allegedly stolen at a farm in Groot Marico the previous night (July 15).
The pair face charges of stock theft and investigations continue.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Sello Kwena, has meanwhile sent a stern warning against stock theft and any farm attacks in the province.
