This even led to opposition parties in the council threatening to open a case against the former City Manager, Sello More.

EFF Mangaung’s regional chairperson, Kgopolang Lipale, tells OFM News that the red berets are in possession of this clip where More is allegedly heard trying to solicit a bribe from one service provider. He says the party will on Wednesday morning open a criminal case against More at the Park Road Police Station in Bloemfontein. More was removed from his post as the council's city manager (CM), via a motion by the opposition, with the help of ANC councillors.

OFM News previously reported that, following his removal from office by council members, More then applied for urgent court action against the council.

More wanted the High Court to review and set aside the council’s decision, and to interdict the appointment of a new acting city manager. He says the decision by the council was not communicated to him. OFM News previously reported that a source said the motion to remove More was an irregular one since More is just an accounting officer and not a politician in council.

The source also told OFM News that what the council should have done, was to write to More and issue a letter to suspend him, pending an investigation. This source suspects that More was just used as a sacrificial lamb to settle a political score within the majority party in the council.

OFM News also previously reported that the members who voted with the opposition in council to remove More, would be rapped on the knuckles by the ANC in the region for defying the party's standing and policies.

On Friday, the ANC Interim Regional Committee (IRC) coordinator, Sabelo Pitso, announced over 16 councillors will also be hurled before the party's working committee. Pitso did not mince his words when addressing the issue of former Mangaung Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC), Patrick Monyakoane.

He said the party would push for Monyakoane to be removed from the list of Proportional Councillors (PR) by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC). He said Monyakoane was working against the party mandate and policies. This was after the ANC Chief Whip in council had given a clear mandate for ANC councillors to not engage or entertain motions that were still under discussion.
