MMM to service its Bloem Water debt accordingly─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 09:52 Fri, 25 Feb 2022
The Bloemfontein-based bulk water supplier Bloem Water is awaiting payment from the cash-strapped Mangaung Metro Municipality as per the newly approved payment proposal submitted by the former acting city manager, Teboho Maine.
Bloem Water’s Kido Thoabala explains the waterboard will monitor the payment proposal’s process to ensure that everything goes accordingly. At the moment, no water restrictions will be implemented as the metro is still in line with the newly approved proposal plan. The latest payment proposal comes after a leaked letter from the waterboard, addressed to Maine, that there will be water restrictions by the 1st of March. OFM News has sent an enquiry to the metro’s headquarters.

The waterboard has been struggling to get the metro to service its current account from late last year. Multiple payment proposals have been submitted in an attempt to settle the outstanding amount, which sits at millions. Water restrictions have been implemented previously by the waterboard due to non-payment.
