The Free State police collected unused flour and muffins as evidence in the investigation into a food poisoning incident that saw seventeen learners from Ntemoseng Secondary School in Botshabelo end up in hospital.
Police spokesperson in the Free State, Thabo Covane, says the evidence was sent to a Forensic Laboratory for tests.
Covane says they received information that a 48-year-old woman from G-Section bought ready-mix flour from a local store to bake muffins, which were eventually sold by one of the learners at the Ntemoseng Secondary School.
Learners who bought the muffins later complained of itching, headaches, and hyperactivity.
