The ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has urged residents to take hands with party officials to build a better Mangaung.

Speaking at the launch of ANC Letsema campaign, held at the Toka primary school, Turflaagte in Bloemfontein, Ramaphosa said the ANC used the birth place of the party as the launchpad of the campaign.

He added that the campaign is aimed at dealing with the shortfalls of service delivery and corruption, among other things. Ramaphosa says the Letsema campaign will reconnect residents with their entrusted party moving forward.

His second visit to Mangaung has raised the hopes of desperate residents - who came out in their numbers despite inclement weather to meet and hear what the President had to say.

“Through this campaign, we will be listening to the needs of our people, we will be addressing the needs of our people. We will be amongst our people, we will be working with our people. We will be doing things with them, and we are now saying let us join hands in a usual way that we have done before," he said.

Ramaphosa further requested the people of Mangaung show support to KZN residents who were affected by floods, by donating whatever they can. He said this will also build unity amongst people of South Africa.
