North West parties join hands against #GBV─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 06:04 Wed, 11 May 2022
The increase in gender-based violence (GBV) and violent cases was at the forefront of the North West Legislature sitting on Tuesday.
Various members of the Provincial Legislature voiced their frustrations with escalating cases of teenage girls and women who are being murdered almost daily.
EFF MPL Kelebogile Kerileng said that the plight of women and children should not be taken lightly.
She condemned on-going incidents of GBV and also stated that women and children have become targets for all sorts of crime.
“It is disheartening to witness how common it has become for families to deal with the anguish of not knowing where their children are, as they have been kidnapped and later their lifeless bodies are found, dumped and violated,” said Kerileng.
