Mangaung residents may have dry taps for two days─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 13:06 Wed, 18 May 2022
Residents in the Mangaung Metro Municipality could be without water for two days from today until Friday (20 May).
Metro spokesperson, Qondile Khedama says possible water supply interruptions may occur due to a planned shutdown of the Welbedacht pipeline by bulk water supplier- Bloemwater.
Khedama says the planned shutdown is for Bloemwater to do maintenance work on the pipeline. The shutdown may affect Bloemfontein South, Wepener and Dewetsdorp for 36 hours.
The planned maintenance will include the replacement of a piece of pipe for the new development near the Hamilton industrial area. Work to be done will affect water supply to Coca Cola, the UFS South Campus and Elrich Park.
Previous maintenance work on the same pipeline resulted in the death of a Bloemwater employee.
