Disgruntled workers of Ditsobotla barricade bank entrance─── 16:30 Fri, 17 Jun 2022
Disgruntled workers of Ditsobotla Local Municipality in Litchenburg in the North West have blocked the entrance of a known bank that is said to be handling the municipality's finances.
This is after the municipality's mayor Mercy Mokgothu and speaker Mpho Lekaba were removed in motion of no confidence this week.
OFM News learnt that the municipality's account has been frozen due to irregularities with regard to signatories on behalf of the municipality.

Residents have confirmed to OFM News that the bank entrance was blocked and they are not able to access services.
North West police spokesperson, Colonel Amanda Funani, confirmed the incident to OFM News, saying no injuries were reported, nor was a case opened.
Funani said the group has since been dispersed and that police are monitoring the situation.
A source told OFM News that the move is to pressure the bank to attend to the frozen municipal account issue.
