The office of the executive mayor of Maluti-A-Phofung, Gilbert Mokotso, has condemned the brutal killing of seven people at a farm outside Kestell.
Mokotso and his team visited the farm yesterday to assess the situation and follow up on progress regarding the case.
MAP16 Speaker, Paratlane Motloung, told OFM News that they are hoping that the two arrested suspects can be directly linked to the murder.

“We are really shocked about this brutal killing of the seven people at a farm in Kestell. So far we only learnt that they’ve only been arrested with two firearms that apparently have been taken from the farm itself, and a stolen bakkie from the farm as well.

"We hope really that this can lead to conviction that can put them in jail for a long time.
"We want to pass our condolences to the affected families and the society as a whole. This has become fashionable now for people to be killed mercilessly and in large numbers,” said Motloung.

He added that the families of the deceased are yet to be identified, and the executive mayor’s office plans to visit the affected families as soon as they are known.
