It is reported that the learner allegedly died after getting stuck in a mobile toilet window on Friday, 16 September 2022.

Provincial police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, says an inquest docket was opened at Kopanong Police Station, and the investigations regarding  the circumstances that caused the death of the pupil continues.

Meanwhile, Free State Education spokesperson Howard Ndaba says four learners were playing in the mobile toilets when one closed the door and could not re-open it.

His body managed to get through, but his head became stuck in the window frame.

"The department has already dispatched officials from the psychosocial unit to render counselling services to the learners, teachers and all affected by the incident. We would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased learners, Caleb Motshabi Prmary School community, especially learners who might have witnessed this tragic incident,” says Ndaba.
