The Northern Cape's National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is expected to inform the public of its plans to fight crime.

The NPA spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane says the newly appointed Director of Public Prosecutions in the Northern Cape, Livingstone Sakata, will be addressing the public on plans and successes at a media briefing, scheduled for Thursday 13 October 2022.

Senokoatsane adds that the government's fight against crime is a priority, as statistics are increasing. He says they will be looking more into gender-based violence and femicide, high-profile matters of fraud, corruption, environmental, and organised crimes.

“The main aim of this media briefing is for the DPP to outline the National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA) plan going forward, as well as share the successes of the NPA within the division of the Northern Cape.”
