Free State Traffic Centre remains shut after vandalism─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 10:44 Fri, 04 Nov 2022
The Odendaalsrus Traffic and Testing Center in the Free State has been vandalised to a point that it is no longer usable.
OFM News previously reported that residents of Odendaalsrus were forced to travel to Welkom to get assistance with their licenses, following the closure of the Odendaalsrus Traffic and Testing Centre by the Department of Labour.
During his visit to the centre, the MEC for Police, Roads, and Transport, William Bulwane, said he doesn't believe any renovations have been done at the centre. He said he will engage with the management involved to plot the way forward.

The Free State spokesperson for Police, Roads, and Transport, Hillary Mophethe, however, says the department is in the process of identifying an alternative service point or building in order to provide other services, excluding the testing of motor vehicles and drivers licenses due to the non-compliance with the Driving License Testing Centre's (DLTC) infrastructure. She confirmed that the station was closed due to non-compliance with labour laws.
Mophethe further said the community of Odendaalsrus will be serviced at a closer DLTC while the department searches for an alternative centre.
