This after the IPC in the province failed four times to hold an election conference, as was expected before the recent 55th national conference, which came to an end in Mangaung last week.
Whilst briefing the media on activities that were expected to take place this past week ahead of the build-up to the party’s 111th year anniversary celebration the newly elected ANC Secretary General (SG), Fikile Mbalula, told journalists in the run up to today’s anniversary celebration they will meet with the Mangaung Metro Council regarding divisions and factions in the council.
This, after stating that the NEC will meet with the Free State ANC IPC in Mangaung to deal with what he described as "anarchy". Free State IPC spokesperson, Oupa Khoabane, tells OFM News the ANC Free State IPC met with national officials to assess the level of readiness for a provincial conference. He, however, adds that they are now waiting on the NEC to give them the go-ahead to arrange a conference.
