Workers continue to protest at the Mangaung Metro Municipality in Bloemfontein over their alleged unpaid wages.
Irate workers at the Bloemfontein-based Mangaung Metro Municipality have once again blocked entrances to the Bram Fischer Building as operations continue to be halted.
A special council meeting is expected to take place at the metro offices today for the election of a new mayor and council whip.

However, the council meeting might be postponed as workers insist they want to be part of the proceedings. Police and other security officials are present outside the building to ensure that order is maintained.
Yesterday, about 400 angry workers barricaded the building to express their dissatisfaction over the non-payment of their salaries. A video on social media showed angry workers invading, littering, and vandalising the so-called Glass Palace to express their frustrations.
This is a developing story.
