An estate agent has been convicted in Gqeberha after defrauding six homeowners to the value of R5 million.
The accused led their six clients to believe that BNI Attorneys were handling the property transfer, but the funds were deposited into both accused people's company accounts.
Nondumiso Olivia David (55) was convicted in the Specialised Commercial Crime Court on 6 June 2023, while the case against her husband Vusumzi David (53) is still pending.
The couple are estate agents for Zolam Properties and have been defrauding clients between 1 January and 30 October 2018.
Olivia was found guilty after multiple court hearings, and her sentencing was scheduled for 19 June 2023.
