Minister Zizi Kodwa was at the 50 days countdown activation to raise awareness of the approaching #2023 Netball World Cup at Kenworth Shopping Centre, in Rocklands, Bloemfontein.
He says the trophy has arrived and it is touring several provinces.
“The people must feel that indeed South Africa is hosting this world event for the first time in the African continent,” says Kodwa.
“Sport can unite people and I am happy to see so many young people here.”
The Netball World Cup trophy will be in Bloemfontein on June 16 when the National Youth Day will be celebrated.
The world cup will commence from 28 July to 6 August 2023.
16 teams will be battling it out across the 10 days, in the hope they will be crowned champions in netball’s most prestigious event.
Spar Proteas will play against Wales on 28 July after the opening ceremony.
