Another video of contaminated water surfaced in Free State─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 12:57 Tue, 04 Jul 2023

A video of what seems like contaminated water from a tap of a resident at Thabong in Welkom is doing its rounds on social media.
The Matjhabeng Local Municipality has had water challenges for some time and the mayor of the Welkom-based municipality, Thanduxolo Khalipha, confirmed that more than half a billion rands are needed to deal with prolonged issues of water-shedding.
A video depicting what looks like a mudslide coming from a tap of one of the residents resurfaced in Thabong today. Some residents claim that Bronville has been without water since Sunday 1 July 2023. The municipality said they are investigating the issue.

Water issues have become synonymous within many residences or areas in the Free State. Earlier this year, residents of Deneysville in the Metsimaholo Local Municipality had similar challenges.
Residents of the Theunissen-based Masilonyana Local Municipality were also besieged by similar conditions and were ultimately forced to fetch water from small water streams and pipes.
