The police in Rustenburg, North West, confirmed investigations are underway after a businessman was gunned down in broad daylight on Wednesday (23/08) at a local coffee shop.
While circumstances surrounding the murder of the businessman Jabulani Ben Gumbi remain unclear, police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone told OFM News no suspects have been arrested yet.
A video went viral on social media of two men shooting the businessman. The police have requested the public's assistance and emphasised the sharing of the video, or pictures of the suspects, may hinder the investigation.

Another video has been shared where Gumbi is speaking about alleged threats he has been receiving. “Gumbi has got rights to the land, and no one can stop what needs to be done in terms of the development. The threats that I will get killed, I will get burned, will not stop the development. Do what you need to do. But the development will go ahead and law will take its course.”
It’s unclear at this stage if these threats and Gumbi’s death are connected.
